Springfield Royal Country Club

Overview

Springfield Royal Country Club has been open since 1993, set on hilly terrain overlooking the Gulf of Thailand in the Cha-am district of Phetchaburi province. It is a 27-hole course split into three nine-hole layouts: Mountain, Lake and Valley. The first two nines (Mountain and Lake) were designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, while Valley was designed by Schmidt-Curley Design. The layout is parkland in style, with wide fairways, clearly positioned bunkers and lakes scattered throughout, rewarding positional play over pure distance off the tee.

Highlights & Signature Holes

• The signature hole is the closing par 5 on the Lake course, which doglegs left and finishes at its trademark island green.
• Each nine has its own character: Mountain features rolling elevation changes and relatively narrow fairways with mountain views, Lake stands out for water hazards that come into play on several holes, while Valley plays a touch easier but still challenges with bunkers and sloping greens.
• It has been ranked among Golf Digest’s Top 10 golf courses in Thailand.

Before you go

The location sits in the Cha-am–Hua Hin zone, about two and a half hours by car from Bangkok, making it well suited to an overnight golf trip. Book your tee times in advance, especially on weekends and during high season (late in the year through early the next year), when the area is popular with visitors coming to play.
