The V5 is what Shot Scope built to replace the V3. The official model page describes it as “an update to our best-selling V3”, and the V3 is no longer in the brand’s watch line-up, which now runs G6, V5 and X5.

The clearest change is the screen. The V5 uses a 240 × 240 colour MIP with 64 colours and five theme options; the V3 was monochrome. That is not only a cosmetic difference: colour is what makes full hole maps possible, with distances to hazards and doglegs that a mono display could not render.

What has not changed is the part that makes a Shot Scope a Shot Scope: 16 second-generation tags fitted to the grip of every club, after which the watch records each shot on its own with nothing to press during the round. That feeds over 100 statistics including Strokes Gained and Handicap Benchmarking, with no subscription.

Against the X5 above it, the difference is touch and finish: the X5 has a touchscreen and a ceramic bezel, the V5 a button-driven colour display. Both weigh 50 g.

Buy it if: you want Shot Scope’s tracking with colour hole maps and do not need to pay up for a touchscreen. Skip it if: you only want yardage to the green, where the G6 is cheaper and lighter.

On the price: the list price is USD 269.99 (checked 12 August 2026), but we have found no Thai seller or citable Thai retail price, so no baht figure appears here.
