Laguna Golf Phuket
ResortPhuket · Southern
A resort course within the Laguna complex in the Bang Tao area, recently renovated and in fine condition, where you play amid lagoons and coconut groves — ideal for a family golf trip.
Overview
Laguna Golf Phuket is an 18-hole, par-71 course set in the heart of the Laguna Phuket resort complex in the Bang Tao area of Thalang district, on the northern part of Phuket island. Originally designed by Max Wexler, it underwent a major redesign by golf course architect Paul Jansen in 2014. The layout’s strength lies in its strategy rather than any reliance on steep terrain, with lakes (lagoons) and water lines woven through the doglegs and curves of the fairways, forcing players to think and calculate throughout the round.
Highlights & Signature Holes
- Hole 8, a par 3, requires a carry over water to a green precisely ringed by bunkers.
- Hole 11, a risk-reward par 5, gives long hitters the chance to go for the green in two.
- Hole 14, a par 5 that gradually climbs uphill, with bunkers positioned to catch the layup zone.
- Hole 17 features a multi-tiered green that severely punishes any missed approach.
Who it suits
It suits golfers who enjoy a strategic course that challenges planning and shot selection over pure power, and it works for all skill levels — especially for a resort golf trip where you want a relaxed round alongside your holiday.
Before you go
The course sits within the Laguna complex in the north of the island, not far from Phuket airport, making it convenient for visitors staying in the Bang Tao area. The dry season (roughly November–April) offers the best weather for playing, and you should book tee times in advance during high season.
Green fees are estimates and may change by day, season and promotion — please confirm with the course before you travel.
