Alpine Golf Club
ChampionshipPathum Thani · Central
One of the legendary courses near Bangkok, with a challenging layout and quality greens. It has long been a favorite among golfers of every generation.
Overview
Alpine Golf Club came into being around 1996 on land that was once the flat rice paddies of Pathum Thani. It was designed by Ron Garl, the American golf course architect, and this course is regarded as his first work in Asia. With his expertise in creating rolling courses out of flat terrain, Garl sculpted the landscape into a parkland-style course with undulating fairways, lakes, and stands of mature trees all around, giving it an atmosphere quite different from courses in inner Bangkok.
Highlights & Signature Holes
- An 18-hole, par-72 layout playing around 7,044 yards from the back tees, making it a full-fledged championship course
- The main challenge comes from cleverly positioned bunkers and water hazards that come into play on several holes
- It has hosted world-class events such as the Johnnie Walker Classic, which drew the world’s top golfers to the course
- A major renovation in 2003 keeps the course condition among the finest in Thailand and Asia
Who it suits
It suits serious golfers looking for a championship course to test their skills, both in shot placement and in reading water hazards, as well as those who want to play a tournament-caliber course without traveling far from Bangkok.
Before you go
The course is in the Khlong Luang area of Pathum Thani, north of Bangkok, and is easy to reach by car. It is best to call and book a tee time in advance, especially on weekends, and to choose an early-morning round to avoid Thailand’s intense midday sun.
Green fees are estimates and may change by day, season and promotion — please confirm with the course before you travel.
