The G82 is really two devices in one. Set it down on the range and it is a radar launch monitor reading ball speed, club speed, smash factor and tempo before you tee off. Walk to the first hole and it clips onto your bag as a course GPS for the rest of the round. The 5-inch touchscreen — which Garmin calls its largest golf handheld display — makes reading numbers and scrolling a hole map noticeably easier than squinting at a watch.

The most interesting addition this time is the putting data set: stroke length, tempo, club speed and ball speed. That is territory most portable launch monitors do not touch at all. If you lose more shots on the green than from the fairway, this is the thing that separates the G82 from the Approach R10.

Worth knowing before you commit: radar mode eats battery several times faster than GPS mode (25 hours versus around 8), and some features cost extra. Aerial imagery and green contours sit behind a Garmin Golf membership, automatic shot detection requires Approach CT10 sensors sold separately, and Range Relay needs a compatible Garmin laser rangefinder.

On price: Garmin announced a US suggested retail price of USD 599.99 (press release dated 20 January 2026). At the time of writing we could not find an official Thai retail price, so we have not put a baht figure on this page. We will update it once there is a source we can point to.
