Chiangmai Highlands Golf & Spa Resort
ResortChiang Mai · Northern
A 27-hole resort course set across the rolling hill country of Chiang Mai, with mountain views and cool, comfortable weather, making it one of Northern Thailand's most popular golf destinations.
Overview
Chiangmai Highlands opened in 2005 and was designed by the world-renowned firm Schmidt-Curley Design (the same team behind many famous courses across Asia). It is a 27-hole championship course laid out on the hillsides to the east of Chiang Mai city, in the Mae On district. The layout makes full use of the rolling terrain, with fairways rising and falling along the contours of the land and mountain views surrounding nearly every hole. It is turfed with paspalum grass, which stands up well to the northern climate.
Highlights & Signature Holes
- The signature hole is the par-5 18th, the highest point on the course. Its fairway slopes down toward the green, with a stream cutting across it and four bunkers guarding the approach, making it a closing hole that is both beautiful and demanding.
- With its rolling contours and varied yardages, the course calls for careful shot planning and precise reading of the green lines.
- It has been recognized by Asian Golf Monthly as one of the best new courses in Asia and has consistently ranked among Thailand’s most popular courses.
Who it suits
It suits golfers looking for a championship-level course with mountain views, from serious players who enjoy the challenge of the slopes and greens to golf-trip groups who want to combine their rounds with relaxation at the resort and spa.
Before you go
The course lies outside Chiang Mai city in the Mae On district, so allow time for the drive and book your round in advance, especially during the cool-season high season when the weather is at its best and golf tourists are particularly plentiful.
Green fees are estimates and may change by day, season and promotion — please confirm with the course before you travel.
